Meet New People Every Wednesday

Book now to join the next virtual meetup.

  • What is this?

Talktime is a virtual meetup where you can connect with new people, locally and globally. There’s no set agenda – just a place to hang out and chat about topics, hobbies, and interests. Think of it like the best parts of meeting someone by chance, but without the awkwardness.

  • What’s included?

All Access Pass – Your ticket gives you full access to our virtual platform.
Seating – Sit at any table or join any of the 1,000 rooms available.
Matchmaking – You’ll meet at least two new people during each meetup.

  • Who are you?

We’re Talktime. Since 2019, we’ve hosted over 1,000 events across the U.S. and internationally. In the last six months alone, we’ve sold over 174,000 tickets.

Like many others, our business shifted during the pandemic, but we quickly realized something – people wanted to meet others, even if it meant virtually. Many of our attendees work from home, have moved to new cities, or just miss the simple joy of talking to someone new.

That’s why we created Meet New People Every Wednesday – a space to connect without pressure. It’s the byproduct of everything we’ve learned over the years, and we can’t wait for you to experience it.

  • Why attend?

Making friends as an adult isn’t easy. You might go to events where everyone already knows each other, and breaking into conversations feels awkward. Even when you meet someone new, the connection doesn’t always last.

At Talktime, everyone shows up with the same goal – to meet someone new. There’s no need to exchange numbers or set plans. Just show up, hang out, and let connections form naturally over time.

Since we meet every week, you can run into familiar faces or meet an entirely new group of Talktimers. It’s low-pressure, simple, and fun.

  • Who will I meet?

You’re guaranteed to meet at least two new people each time. Our attendees are a mix – professionals, creatives, gamers, hobbyists, and more. Some have just moved to new cities, while others are looking to connect with people outside their usual circles.

What makes Talktime different is that everyone is here to meet someone new. No cliques. No small talk circles that are hard to break into.

  • Where is the meetup held?

    This event is online only.

  • How does it work?

Everyone joins at the same time. You can:

    • Join a table for small group discussions.
    • Enter the matchmaking room for a 1-on-1 chat.
    • Explore different rooms and drop into ongoing conversations.

There’s no agenda – you’re free to roam, join conversations, and meet people at your own pace.

  • How do I book my seat?

Use the booking calendar (above) to choose your date and time. Seats fill quickly, so reserve yours early.

  • Who can join Talktime?

Talktime is open to adults 18 and older.

  • Why are meetups only on Wednesdays?

We found that weekends are packed with other commitments. Wednesday offers a midweek break – something to look forward to before the weekend rush.

  • What time does the meetup start?

    8 PM EST every Wednesday.

  • How long does the meetup last?

Officially, from 8 PM to 9 PM EST – but many Talktimers stay longer, sometimes chatting until 2 AM. We won’t shut things down if people are still talking, so feel free to stay as long as you like.

  • Are there discounts for group purchases?

    No.

  • What is the refund policy?

No refunds or transfers. All sales are final.

  • Is this just a Zoom meeting?

No. Talktime offers a dynamic, interactive experience far beyond a typical online meeting.

  • How do I join the meetup?

After registration, you’ll receive a link to join.

  • Can I attend on my phone?

Yes, but the experience is best on a desktop or laptop.

  • What equipment do I need?

A stable internet connection is necessary. You can join from a desktop, laptop, iPad, or phone – but for the best experience, we recommend using a webcam and microphone.

  • What about accessibility?

We strive to make all our meetups accessible.

  • Who do I contact?

Reach out to us at support@talktimeproject.com.

Selling or distributing illegal drugs, or misusing legal substances, is not allowed.

    • Example: A participant displays or offers illegal drugs and paraphernalia during the event.

    Dangerous Organizations:

We value diversity and inclusion. Hate speech or the dehumanization of marginalized groups based on race, gender, orientation, disability, or religion is not allowed.

    • Example: A participant makes derogatory comments about another person’s race or gender, creating a hostile environment.

    Impersonation:
Creating fake profiles or impersonating others is forbidden. Each participant may have only one account.

    • Example: A participant uses a fake profile to mislead others, disrupting interactions and violating trust.

    Misinformation:
Spreading false information or conspiracy theories is not allowed.

    • Example: A participant spreads false claims about the event venue, causing unnecessary fear and confusion.

    Violence or Sexual Misconduct:
Threatening, promoting, or engaging in violence or sexual misconduct is strictly prohibited. This includes stalking, assault, or any verified history of such behavior.

    • Example: A participant threatens physical harm during or after an event. Legal documentation about another user’s history of violence or sexual misconduct (such as restraining orders) will be taken seriously.

    Scams & Fraud:
Deceptive financial activities and fraud are not tolerated.

    • Example: A participant offers fake investment opportunities, attempting to deceive others for personal gain.

    Sexual Harassment:
Unwelcome sexual conduct, whether verbal or visual, is not allowed. This includes sending unsolicited explicit images, making unwanted remarks, objectifying others, or threatening to share intimate images without consent.

    • Example: A participant sends inappropriate messages or images after an event, creating discomfort and violating our policies.

    Spam:
Bulk messaging, misleading links, or disruptive profiles are prohibited.

    • Example: A participant creates multiple profiles to spam others with misleading offers.

    Suicide & Self-Harm:
Content that glorifies or promotes self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders is banned. Sharing personal experiences regarding mental health is allowed if approached sensitively.

    • Example: A participant promotes self-harm as a coping strategy, crossing the line from personal sharing to harmful encouragement.

    Violent Content:
Graphic content involving injury, weapons, or harm is prohibited.

    • Example: A participant shares graphic hunting photos or injury scenes, making others uncomfortable.

By adhering to these guidelines, we ensure a positive and safe experience for everyone involved. Thank you for contributing to our community.
