What color lipstick should I wear?

How to choose what color to wear in 3 steps.

1. Identify your undertone

This visual guide will show you how.

In brief.

What's an undertone?

Human skin color ranges in variety from the darkest brown to the lightest hues.

An undertone is the color from underneath the surface of your skin that affects your overall skin color.

There are three types of undertones.

  • Cool
  • Warm
  • Neutral

Take the vein test.

Look at your veins on your arm to determine your undertone.

  • Cool - If your veins look blue or purplish
  • Warm - If your veins look greenish
  • Neutral - If your veins look colorless or match the color of you skin

2. Identify your skin tone

Look at your skin around the jawline. Determine whether your completion is fair, light, medium, tan or dark.

3. Write down your skin tone and undertone

The goal is to match your undertone with your lipstick color.

  • Warm undertone = warm lipsticks
  • Cool undertone = cool lipsticks
  • Lighter skin tones = soft and cool colors
  • Darker skin tones = warm colors
  • Neutral skin tones = any color

Don't be afraid to break the rules. Try something new.

How we give back.

For anxiety, depression, mental health and more.

Step 1: Think big.

According to the World Health Organization, anxiety, depression and other mental health issues affect 1 in 4 people in the world. Treatments are available, but nearly two-thirds of people with a known mental disorder never seek help.

Step 2: Extend a hand.

Volunteering is good for everyone's health. It can fix big problems in way that is accessible, achievable and doable for all. Starting a simple conversation can mean so much to a person who just needs someone to talk to.

Step 3: Start the journey.

At Talktime, we help you start the conversation. We bundle our items in two so you can gift a teen, a woman, a man, or a non-binary person in need. Volunteer to be the person you needed when you were going through a tough time.
